  • I remember this time well – for various reasons. It would be great to know how life treated us all. Simon Webb

  • Yes I used to get the train from Three Bridges with Dorrington and later Saunders. Nicholas Berzins got on at Haywards Heath and others got on at Hassocks (Powell I think). There was one who even came in from Redhill. Others came in from Rustington and Seaford. I can also remember that music teacher, but not his name unfortunately, he played the piano and in order for him to be able to play the organ in the chapel, one boy had to work the pump.

  • I think you may be referring to Martin Deadman as your fellow passenger and Mr. Langridge as the organist and piano player at XC and DLS.

I believe the other passengers from Hassocks may have included members from my class in the following year.

If you were a member of the school then you should join the above mentioned group for further details.

  • Yes I remember Mr Langridge and singing lessons in the Chapel as some poor kid bashed away at the organ pump to the amusement of all the class .All gone now ,just one of many memories.
I wonder how many of my class and others of that time are still around ?
