Wilson's Laundry employee

Mystery lady in Wilson's Laundry
©Tony Tree

This mystery lady was photographed for a project involving the former Wilson’s Laundry in Whitehawk in the late 1980s or early 1990s.

It is about to be included in an exhibition of the work of local photographer Tony Tree. But there is one problem – although he remembers that the lady lived in Quebec Street – he neglected to write down her name. But he would like to be able to give her credit in the exhibition.

Did you use Wilson’s Laundry? Can you tell us the lady’s name? If you can help, please leave a comment below.

  • I support an elderly lady who once worked at Wilson’s Laundry. She knew this lady very well. Her name’s Vera but she’s unsure of her surname although she did mention the surname Denn. They often had chats and worked together. Apparently she wasn’t married and had no children.

  • This looks like Vera but I can’t remember her surname. Thought she lived in Montreal Road but maybe wrong.

  • I used to know the Wilson family as a little boy and was wondering if anyone knows anything about Timothy Wilson. We lived next door and used to play together.
    Thanks.
