A winter scene in Brighton, February 1845
If there is any truth behind this image then it probably dates from February 1845, and Queen Victoria’s last visit to Brighton with her young family. Our weather has been affected a lot by climate change since 1845, however it looks like winter may return this week. January is over, but there’s still a long way to go until spring! This image is from my book “Brighton and the Golden Reign” published in 1897 by James Robertson “Guardian” & “Society” Press, 34, North Street, Brighton.
