An air of grandeur

For me, Eastern Terrace is the one of the most attractive sections of the sea front. The mellow brick and creamy stucco, the balconies and pillars and the air of grandeur make this terrace very pleasing to the eye.

Palatial interiors

A few years ago I was invited to tea at one of the flats by a couple I had taught on a family history course and I was fascinated to see the interior. It was certainly no disappointment: the entrance hall was nothing short of palatial and the flat had wonderful high ceilings and a superb balcony.

When I win the lottery!

Apparently the lawn and flowerbeds at the front of the building were laid in 1999 during the filming of The End of the Affair (the film adaptation of the Graham Greene novel) to add further authenticity to the location. The interior of one of the properties here was used extensively by Columbia Pictures as the hotel love-nest of actors Ralph Fiennes and Julianne Moore. If I were to win the lottery, I would be more than happy to make Eastern Terrace my home (or one of them…)
