  • In the last photo, I think the teacher is Mr. Dunne, who was my teacher for the short time I was at the Junior School. Mr Whitton was the Headmaster, who I later met in Haywards Heath, when he became Headmaster of (I think) New England Rd. Primary School. I have a cutting from the Mid Sussex Times with a photo of him. Will attach when found. I remember a Mr. Barnwell, his class was upstairs in the Juniors. Another teacher in my time was Miss Bollom. To all of you who have contributed, ‘thanks for the memory.’

  • Mr. Whitton became Headmaster of St. Wilfrid’s Church of England Primary School in Haywards Heath, which I attended from 1956 – 1958. He used to speak fondly of St. John’s Carlton Hill.
