The ultimate challenge

Six Crawley Based Royal Marines/Ex Royal Marines got themselves ready for a Challenge to Challenge ALL Challenges. They pulled a sleigh, weighing over ¼ Ton, over 60 miles, from London to Brighton via Crawley. The event was to help the children of Royal Marines who have been killed in conflicts, and the aim was to take donated presents to them in time for Christmas. The project has had a fantastic response, with donations coming in from all over the country, and sponsorship being given via the charity’s Help our Wounded Royal Marines website and their Facebook Page .

Well earned cup of tea

The event  involved six Pullers, four Traffic Guides, four Royal British Legion Riders and a safety vehicle with medical assistance. They started the event at Clapham South and headed down the A23 through Croydon, Redhill, Horley, Gatwick and down Crawley High Street en route to Crawley Town FC before carrying on to Brighton and Hove. When they arrived they were met by the Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Anne Meadows and enjoyed a well earned cup of tea on the Palace Pier.
