Record numbers of runners
On Sunday February 19th, almost 7,500 runners took to the streets of Brighton and Hove to tackle the Brighton Half Marathon. It was a lovely sunny day and the crowds certainly turned out to support the runners. The race is organised by Sussex Beacon which hopes this year to earn a record amount of funds.
The winners
The race winner was Matthew Dumigan in a time of 01:10:22; the women’s winner was, for the third year in succession, local runner Fiona Powell. Among the 7,427 runners to take part this morning were local DJ Norman Cook aka Fat Boy Slim, who ran the race with his brother.
