The Greenhouse at Emmaus

Garden centre with a difference

The Greenhouse, in Drove Road Portslade, an inspirational new community garden project from Brighton charity Emmaus, was opened this week by Mayor of Brighton & Hove Councillor Bill Randall. This garden centre with a difference is a culmination of nine  months of hard work by project manager Rachael Woodgate and her team of Emmaus Companions and volunteers.

Fun with recycling

The greenhouse is an extraordinary place where a love of gardening and a creative imagination meet to inspire people to have fun with recycling and look at their outdoor space in a brand new way. Whether it’s a patio, garden, conservatory, balcony, terrace, allotment or window box, the greenhouse is packed with blooming good ideas to bring both indoor and outdoor spaces to life by offering stunning hand-crafted planters made from people’s discarded or unwanted items.
