Our first glimpse of the sea

Atlingworth Street, 1994

This is Atlingworth Street and this photo is of particular significance for us because it was our first glimpse of the sea. It’s also where we were staying. It’s a very nice place. Notice the uniformity of the buildings.  We just like the character of the street here leading down to the sea. It was quite special for us. It’s quite a narrow street too which is I think characteristic of the old parts of Brighton, and having the sea just at the end of the street is just wonderful.

  • I worked at Eden Court hotel on Atlingworth Street in my teens. I had my 16th birthday there- Mr and Mrs Moffet ran the hotel with their daughter. A very nice street and area.
