  • My grandfather, Harold Wainwright, was the blacksmith at Hove Pumping Station in the 1950’s. He, my Grandma and the 4 children lived in the Waterworks Cottages and swam in the cooling pond.
    When I visited the Engineerium in the 1980’s the workshop was where my Grandad worked and there was still an overall hung on the nail where he hung his Blacksmiths apron.
