  • This building contained the old Hove Fire Station. The two arched doors on the right were the appliance garages. My dad was a fireman and as a child I lived in a flat at the back of the fire station yard behind the station here until October 1970 when we moved to Uckfield for dad’s promotion. I attended Connaught Road Infants, then Goldstone Junior and Davigdor Sec Mod School for Girls. Does anyone remember me?

  • Most of the building featured was in fact used by South Eastern Electricity Board as a billing office before they moved to Worthing and latterly as the legal and management services unit. I worked there in the 1960s and had great fun with the lively bunch that were there and dominated The Connaught over the road at lunchtimes.
