'Hitler is not going to have my whiskey'

My husband, John, two sisters, mother and grandmother moved to no. 18 and lived there for many years. During the War a bomb landed on the Shirley Press and there was some damage to the nearby houses. When the Wardens came to ask everyone to leave the house, Grannie insisted on going back in to get her bottle of whiskey. She declared, ‘Hitler is not going to have my whiskey’. Does anyone remember the Leggett family?
