  • Nice to see the place restored to brick, that aweful yellow of the sun was a terrible eyesore.

  • This is unique in being a pub I only went in once and then only for 30 seconds. In 1977 my dad was ill in Brighton General and my brother came up to see him. He was an army sergeant serving in Belfast, then at the depths of the Troubles. We walked in, he said ‘Its full of Irishmen’ and we quickly walked out and ended up in the Rose Hill Tavern.

  • It’s now The Admiral! How these names change and come back around!

  • I was the landlord who changed the name to the Flying pig.

  • I remember David who changed the name to The Flying Pig! I remember quite a few of the former Cobden Arms clientele moved to your establishment, myself included. I was a university student at the time and the pub offered a warm welcome away from my fellow housemates arguments. Often nights ended with you, me and a local musician called John, putting the world to rights. I seem to remember that you were planning to move to Hayling Island. I hope it all worked out for you and you’re enjoying your retirement.
