  • How very interesting to see this picture showing the church and its surroundings. I spent my young life living at 4 Mount Zion Place which was actually a stone’s throw from the vestry door. My family first lived at this address in 1889. Mount Zion Place was demolished in 1965, apart from the top house(no.2). This demolition was to make room for the new St. Paul’s school which can clearly be seen in the photograph. I have been wondering if there is anyone out there who lived in Mount Zion Place, or have any photos of this street. It was one of the oldest in Brighton dating back to the 1820s. I have searched “James Gray Regency site” but there are no pictures.
