Mirinda comes from the Czech Republic and she first came to Brighton to work as an au pair. “Brighton is the best place to be in England”, she says, “And I know, because I’ve been travelling around a lot in the UK!”

Crazy relaxed people on the seafront
She particularly likes the seafront. “There are so many crazy, relaxed people down there. I can just sit and watch for ages.” But she’s not so impressed by the centre of Brighton. “It’s a shame if you just stay around the Churchill Square area. It’s like any big city. I really like the outskirts of Brighton. There are so many places to visit like the Devil’s Dyke and the Seven Sisters.

Brighton is so ‘mixed’
Another thing Mirinda appreciates about Brighton is that it’s so mixed. “In my country there are no foreigners at all. And no one goes out. Here the streets are never empty…Unfortunately it can be a bit dangerous at night”, she says and finishes her drink.
