We used to go to magic lantern shows here.

I also went to the lantern shows. We ate raw chestnuts and dropped the shells on the floor, much to the dismay of the staff. After the shows we would go out in the dark and twirl pieses of smoldering string to make Catherine Wheels. I lived in Ashton Street.

My great grandparents, Joseph Barnes and Mary Ann Boniface, were married here in 1864, so nice to see what it looked like.

My great-great grandparents, Alfred Farris and Mary Johnson, were married here in 1859.
