Being one who studys photographs in detail, I wonder if we will ever know who the lady is standing in the street in the middle of the picture. She does look rather alone.

If you draw a line through the lady and the lampost, behind her was our house that was bombed and we were dug out from. It was up against the blank wall of the first standing house. On the corner coming towards Sussex Street was a garage which vanished altogether. We all got out without a injury.
