The third cemetery in the area is the:
c) BRIGHTON AND PRESTON CEMETERY: Opened in 1885 on 27 acres of ground, this cemetery has a pinnacled archway entrance in Hartington Road and a mortuary chapel in knapped flint with an octagonal spire. The adjoining Downs Crematorium in Bear Road was established in 1941 by the cemetery company with a separate chapel. {83,123}
