Community groups and carnival lovers reclaimed the streets on Saturday 22nd July, with a medley of balloons, bicycle bells and stilts walkers. Spectacular headdresses, belly dancers and colourful animal costumes paraded through the streets making it a day not to be missed.

With over 20 different parade entries including award-winning Carnival group Positive Spirits; Shademakers, a spectacular company all the way from Germany; the Brighton School of Samba; and Monobloco from Rio de Janeiro gave the Carnival a Brazilian vibe along with a variety of community and school groups.

The parade ended with musical accompaniment at Hove Lawns joining the Brighton Peace Picnic for a final showcase of parade band performers on the Brighton Carnival stage, with MC Coco P playing Soca music and special guests.
