West Hove Golf Club-House

This building, the West Hove Golf Club house, was formerly adjacent to the Old Shoreham Road.  It was demolished to make way for the road widening and link to the by-pass. Sainsbury’s filling station and superstore now cover the site.

  • Back in the 1960s we lived opposite the golf course, my bedroom looked over the clubhouse and Old Shoreham Road. We were bought out (paid a pittance) by the Roads Dept as they were to knock down our house for widening Old Shoreham Road. I was surprised to see it still standing (next to the flats on the corner of Boundary Road) in 2002. It used to be a great walk up through the course. Shame.
