This photograph is of the Nurses’ Home of the Brighton General Hospital taken from the balcony of ward E3 just prior to the enclosure of the balcony in May 1987, with a view over some of Brighton and what was then the garden of the home before being built on.

There are many more photographs of the hospital taken in May 1987, including nurses on E3, which shows the ward still in the Nightingale configuration, these can be found on the dedicated web site.
